Family Game Night

We love playing games in our family. Friday nights are usually reserved for movie night/ game night in our house. We love picking out new games to play, making popcorn and just relaxing as a family and having fun.

The weekdays are usually busy for us, as in most families, so it’s always fun to laugh as a family and expel the stress that builds up from the hustle and bustle of the busy week.

My kids love reviewing toys, what kid wouldn’t?! We were sent some pretty cool games recently. Some of them are geared towards younger kiddos and some of them are more for Cody‘s age. I have really been enjoying playing more mature games.  It’s nice to play a challenging game with him that I can also really get into!

Board Game Review

Catch the Fox, Gooey Louie and Doggie Doo are all games that even your little ones can play. What I loved about these games  is that the boys could open them up on their own, figure out how they work and just start to play! Gooey Louie and Doogie Doo are also hilarious because your playing with pretend snot and doggie “doo” which, of course, my boys love! These games are quick, fun and produced a lot of giggles!!

The other games we were sent are more for older children. Cody and his buddies really enjoyed playing these after school. These games take longer than the games geared toward younger kids so I couldn’t get videos, but they have very descriptive videos on the Blue Orange Games website. They are totally different than most of the games we have at home. There is a lot of skill and strategy used for these games which Cody seemed to really have fun with.

Scarabya

Scarabya Board Game

Scarabya is a tile-laying puzzle game that includes unique gameplay and intricate components.

You are a seasoned archaeologist who is competing against your colleagues to find the most Scarabs relics. These golden beetle amulets are extremely valuable as they can help solve ancient mysteries about the long-gone civilizations that created them. They are known to be scattered across the world: buried in the Egyptian desert, hidden deep in the Amazon rainforest, immersed in the Bermuda Triangle, and frozen in Antarctica. To find them, lead your team on an expedition to set up camps and mark out areas of excavation. Will you be the archaeologist who finds the most Scarabs and uncovers the mysteries of Scarabya?

Age of Giants

Kingdomino Board Game

Age of Giants is dominoes with a kingdom building twist. Each turn, connect a new domino to your existing kingdom, making sure at least one of its sides connects to a matching terrain type already in play. The game mechanics for obtaining the tiles is clever: the order of who picks first depends on which tile was previously chosen. Make sure to secure tiles with crowns- these royal treasures help to multiply the worth of your kingdom at the end of the game!

Blue Lagoon requires smart placement and anticipation to win. The area control and set collection game is won through the accumulation of points by collecting resources and settling on the islands.

Board games are a fun way to connect as a family at any age! We are so busy in our lives that we have to be intentional with our family time. Game night is a great way to make those connections! Your kiddos will thank you for it!
