5 Reasons Dermaplaning is Great for your Skin

by MHSjennie on March 7, 2018

Is there anything better than a spa day??! As moms, we give our everything to our families and somehow we are always at the bottom of the list which is why a spa day is always much-needed! I have been lucky enough to try out some the services at Becoming Mom Spa + Ultrasound.

My first experience was a pedicure with their brand new polish line, Dazzle Dry. I am happy to say my polish is still going strong and not one chip yet! I am officially OBSESSED! You can read all about the polish in my previous post and you can check out my Facebook Live to find out even more.

I was able to go back and experience a facial and massage. Let me tell you, it was 2 hours of BLISS! There was something about being there for 2 hours and being completely pampered that just had me so relaxed I wanted to do absolutely nothing the entire day!!

I had the 50 minute Swedish Massage with hot stones. You can actually choose additional enhancers to add onto any massage. The bed was warm, the lights were dim and the music was relaxing. It was amazing! You can even add-on a Nap time…yes ladies that right.. NAP TIME FOR MOMS! Stay on the table with soothing music and candlelight surrounding you and take a much-needed snooze after a relaxing massage!

My facial was the Get that Glow Facial. I don’t typically get facials. When I think of relaxing it is in the form of massage, but after my facial I really feel like they are underrated. It wasn’t sterile or bright. The lights were low, the relaxing music was on and in addition to my facial, I got a massage of the face, neck and shoulders and even a foot massage! So I feel like a facial is something I need to try to work into my schedule!

The other thing I tried out during my facial was DERMAPLANING! It was my first experience and I am totally hooked! Dermaplaning is the physical exfoliation of the skin, removing the dead skin cells and leaving behind a brighter and smoother surface. This procedure provides results comparable to chemical peels without any downtime and with regular treatments you will see a reduction in fine lines and hyperpigmentation. This a perfect option for pregnant or nursing moms that are unable to use such harsh products, or for anyone that is looking for effective and natural skin care treatments. It is a great option for teens who have delicate skin and have frequent breakouts because it can help minimize those.

What I liked the most about it is that it can help with so many skin problems, but you can walk out of there and go about your day without anyone ever knowing. NO DOWNTIME! It also doesn’t hurt at all. It’s quick and painless. Plus, you aren’t putting any harsh chemicals on your skin. I have battled acne scarring on my face for years and have always considered peels, but I am going to give this a try to see what it can do for my skin before taking that step. They charge $75 for dermaplaning alone (which includes their mom on the go facial) or you can do the Get that Glow Spa Facial and dermaplaning upgrade ($75 for the facial $45 for the dermaplaning). They do recommend you keep up with the Dermaplaning every 4-6 weeks to see optimal results.

5 Reasons to try Dermaplaning!

  • It reduces fine lines and wrinkles
  • It helps with acne scarring
  • It helps with cell regeneration so your skin looks younger
  • It helps your skincare products work better and go deeper in the skin, along with helping your makeup go on smoother and easier
  • It removes any facial hair, peach fuzz or any other unwanted facial hair

Although there is no downtime, be sure to wear sunscreen for the first 24-48 hours since your skin will be more sensitive than normal. I would love to hear your experiences with Dermaplaning. Did it help improve your skin?!

Becoming Mom Spa sponsored this post. They offered me these services so that I could share my experiences with you. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thanks for reading!
