Today Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Cincinnati presented by TriHealth celebrates 30 YEARS of presenting touring Broadway productions in Cincinnati! Broadway in Cincinnati, originally called the Broadway Series, began its time in Cincinnati with the presentation of SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN at the Taft Theatre Tuesday, September 29, 1987.
Over the past thirty years, the organization has brought more than 250 Broadway productions totaling more than 3,100 performances to the Queen City, delighting over one million audience members. Broadway in Cincinnati shows contribute an average of $30 million to the local economy each season. Each year, blockbuster shows like WICKED, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA and LES MISÉRABLES visit Cincinnati alongside new shows hot off Broadway, like this year’s WAITRESS and FINDING NEVERLAND, making for one of the most popular arts series in the city and one of the largest subscriber bases for a Broadway series in the nation.
The company’s anniversary coincides with a performance of WICKED, currently playing at the Aronoff Center. I had never seen this production until a few weeks ago and it is absolutely FABULOUS! I could not get over the music, singing, costumes and the back drops. I was caught up in the entire storyline and didn’t want it to end!
WICKED will play at the Aronoff Center through until October 15, 2017: Tuesday – Thursday at 7:30PM, Friday at 8:00PM, Saturday at 2:00PM and 8:00PM, Sunday at 1:00PM and 6:30PM. Tickets start at $42.50. They are available at the Aronoff Center Box Office downtown at 650 Walnut Street, online at CincinnatiArts.org or by phone at 513.621.ARTS. Performance schedule, prices and cast are subject to change without notice. For more information, please visit www.BroadwayInCincinnati.com.
