I have had so many people ask me about our experience at Bonnybrook Farms during their Chuck Wagon Dinner Ride since I shared our fun evening in pics on Facebook.
I had never been to Bonnybrook Farms and had no idea the amount of family fun events they host! The Chuck Wagon Dinner Ride was one of the coolest experiences and we had SO MUCH FUN! It was even named Top 5 Things to Do with your Kids in Cincinnati Magazine!
The Chuck Wagon Dinner Rides are every Saturday in June, July, August and September and they book up quick so add this to your calendars and call early to schedule a time for your family to visit. The night begins at 5:00 p.m. with some ‘Fun on the Farm’ activities:
- Giant Slingshots & Clodhopper Golf Course
- Friendly Farm animals to pet in the stable
- Farm Yard Play Area, Fish Feeding, Farm Trails
- Horseshoe Hill Tunnel and 80′ underground slide
- Catch and Release Fishing (Bring your own fishing pole and bait)
There’s something for all ages and activity levels. You bring your own cooler of drinks so there were some adults sipping wine and relaxing on the porch while they watched their kids play, others were drinking a beer and fishing, while some families were enjoying the playground area and seeing the farm animals. We got there right at 5 and had plenty of time to try everything they had to offer. The Giant Slingshots were fun for the boys, but I think Steve had the most fun with it! I really loved the Clodhopper Golf. It is like put put, but the golf clubs are sticks with horseshoes on the end. I had a blast playing this with the kiddos!
The dinner bell rings at 6:30 p.m. and everyone goes into the beautifully decorated barn for a fabulous dinner. The menu includes:
- Bonnybrook’s hickory smoked pulled pork and chicken
- Nathans’ hot dogs
- Farm-fresh sides and salads from locally grown produce
- Ice cold lemonade and iced tea
- You can also BYOB
The food was delicious and we had more than we could even eat! The doors were open in the barn and it was beautiful having the fresh air rolling through there and seeing the rolling hills and glistening pond in the background.
You have an hour for dinner and then it is Wagon Ride time! You take a long, beautiful ride through the woods and open land to an old chuck wagon. By the time you get there it is dusk and almost dark. You pull up to several roaring fires and lots of yummy desserts! Your family can gather around the campfire and roast s’mores, chow down on fresh-baked homemade cobblers and cookies. They also have coffee, water and soft drinks available for you to drink. By the time your belly is nice and FULL, you load up on the Wagon and take a star lit wagon ride back to the barn. I cannot tell you how gorgeous the ride back was. We were all snuggled up next to each other, looking at the stars, riding through this beautiful farm!
The night ended for us about 9:00 p.m. I really cannot tell you how amazing this was for me and my family. It was so unique, unlike anything I have tried before!!! Even if this is something you don’t make a tradition, if you live in the area, this an absolute must visit! Add it to your bucket list!! And be sure to check out their other family friendly activities too! So much to do at Bonnybrook Farms!
I was given complimentary tickets to attend the dinner, however, all thoughts and opinions are my own. Thanks for reading!
