As most of you know I recently had my third baby boy. Along with the joys of having a new baby, also come the flub! That’s right ladies, you know what I am talking about…. the postpartum jelly belly! With every pregnancy, I have gained between 40-50 pounds and my body has changed each time. I have been pretty open about my weight loss challenges and what I have done in the past to lose the weight, but this time around has been HARD! Grant it, Bennett is only 4 months so I know “you gotta give yourself time to bounce back”, but let’s face it, when you can’t zip up ANY of your pants and your nursing boobs are too big to wear most of your shirts, you need a little pick me up!
That’s where SHAPEWEAR comes into play! I had never used shapewear in the past and I don’t think I would have even considered it unless the I was offered one to review, but now that I have one I wonder how I ever LIVED WITHOUT IT! Shapewear is a life changer, no joke!
I was pretty down when I couldn’t pull up any of my jeans over my big old post prego behind and hips and I am way to cheap to buy new clothes… that is when I remembered I was sent the Leonisa Slimming Braless Body Shaper. Once I figured out how to get the thing on (note to self, step into the shapewear while it is still zipped!) I was AMAZED at the difference it made on my body!
What I LOVE about it:
- It is braless so as a nursing mama I could wear any of my nursing bras and it didn’t interfere with feeding time
- It comes up high on the back. This particular piece comes up above my bra. What’s so great about this? UM can you say back fat?! Totally smoothed that part out which was FAB!
- It took literally 3 inches off my waist! YES, it’s true and I was able to button ONE pair of jeans! WOW that is what I’m talkin’ bout!
Cons:
- The Shapewear that I have is like a bodysuit so it can make it a little tricky when you have to pee. Might be TMI, but just being honest. I was worried if I got a garment that just goes to the waist it would keep rising up and I would have to be constantly pulling it down, but since I haven’t tried one like that I can’t speak to how it stays in place. I like that the body suit stays exactly where it is and NEVER moves, the entire time you have it on.
- Now that it is summer and getting warmer out, the Shapewear can make me a little sweaty. Not only do I have a baby I am carrying around, two others I am running after, but I have my clothes and my Shapewear on. To be honest, this is a small price to pay with how great I feel when I have this thing on, for real!
So there you have it. My weigh in on Shapewear. I know there are many other types of Shapewear out there and I would LOVE to hear your experiences with them. Your favorites, how you wear them, and how they have changed your life!
I am happy to report that I have completed my Bikini Body Mommy Challenge and am still trying to stay on the Weight Watchers wagon (yes I have fallen off, but keep getting back on- never give up!!) and I have lost 20 pounds! I am feeling so much better and getting stronger everyday. I won’t be able to sport my bikini this summer, but I have been able to zip up a few more pants LOL :) Baby steps right?! I still have about 15 pounds to lose so I would love to hear about your favorite workout programs that I can do from home!
All in all, babies are a blessing, but can take a toll on our body! Be kind to yourself and know that we didn’t gain all that baby weight over night and we won’t lose it overnight. In the meantime, there is this beautiful thing called Shapewear! :)
Even though we may not look like we did pre-baby, they really do make it all worth it!
I was given Shapewear from Leonisa so I could review it and share my thoughts with you. All opinions are my own! Thanks for reading!
