My crafty friend Pam is at it again and has a quick and easy DIY Fathers Day gift you can make just in time for Sunday!
It’s Friday and if you are still looking for a meaningful gift for all the dads and grandpas in your children’s life, look no further! This easy craft isn’t too time-consuming, and is very inexpensive to make!
My husband and kids made me photo frames with candy conversation hearts for Valentine ’s Day, so I knew I wanted to return the favor and make a cute frame that was still a bit manly. I saw something similar on Pinterest of course and planned to do this for weeks. Fast forward until yesterday when we finally finished our masterpieces.
What you will need:
- Wooden photo frames from your local craft store (mine had them for $1)
- Paint
- Hot glue gun
- Nuts, screws, bolts, nails and any other little thing like that. You probably can find spares in a guy’s tool box like I did. Or else run up to the hardware store and pick up a few- they are pretty cheap.
- A darling photo of your man & child, or just your child
Step one is to have your children paint the frame. I stuck with blue and white since I had it on hand. This paint eventually turned into finger painting/hand painting so be prepared! Luckily I took their shirts off for painting and then I popped my kiddos in the tub immediately after. So technically a bath was step two for me. Once the frames are dry, have the kid’s layout and position the fun “thinga-ma-jigs” and hot glue them down. Make it very clear how hot the glue is so they don’t touch! By the time things were cleaned up everything was dry and all I had to do was add cute photos of my kids!
Regular glue or craft glue might work well too. I envision the frames sitting on his office desk so I wanted them to hold up around his co-workers so I went for the strong stuff! Happy Father’s Day to all the dads reading and happy crafting to all the hard-working mommas making their day extra special!

Love the idea!! I appreciate your effort, Jennie. I learn from such articles and I teach my nephews who are very curious to learn new things and there are numerous other options for father's day gifts.
