My skin seems to get insanely dry in the winter and although my Whipped Body Butter is SUPER moisturizing, I need a little something extra :) I decided to make my own body scrub since it helps with two areas: exfoliates dead skin and adds extra moisture to the skin!! It is super easy and cheap to make and best of all, you can customize the scent with your favorite essential oils!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup DARK brown sugar
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup almond oil
- 1 tsp. liquid vitamin E oil
- 1 tsp. honey
- 20 drops of your favorite essential oil. You can use more than one oil in a batch if you like to mix your scents! As you can see below I used 3 different oils in mine!
- 1 Glass Jar around a pint. I reuse my mason jars.
Directions:
You will mix everything in a small bowl. You may need to add a little more sugar, depending on the
desired consistency. Use a pint size mason jar or other glass container you have. You never want to store your oils or DIY products in plastic as it will absorb the plastic and contaminate them.
This is an amazing all over body scrub and it is safe for your lips and face! It is an amazing exfoliate and because you are using sugar it is super gently and can be used daily if so desired. I like to apply mine in the shower so I can rinse off the excess sugar. You will be amazed at how SOFT your skin will feel after using this! Follow up with your Whipped Body Butter and your skin will be soft and smooth!
I would love to hear about ways you use your Essential Oils! I have been amazed at how they are changing my life and would love for you to share how they have changed yours! Not ALL ESSENTIAL OILS are created equal. Oils can say 100% pure therapeutic grade and not be completely pure. I highly recommend to do your own research! doTERRA Oils are Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade and is tested on 6 different levels for their purity. If you have any questions or need help locating the right oil for your own particular health issues please send me an email and be sure to check out my website for all things doTERRA!
