We have been to Great Wolf Lodge in the past for blogger events and mommy son date nights, but we have never stayed the night until now!!! If you are local to a Great Wolf, check out my post on how to have a great time without staying the night for cheap! With the holiday approaching, Great Wolf has been offering some awesome deals to stay there and I just couldn’t resist!! We got their family suite (priced just over $200) for $150 plus a $30 voucher to use there during our stay!! Not bad! Make sure to check out their website and get signed up for their newsletters so you can stay up to date on booking a room on the cheap!!
Check in is at 4pm, but you can start using the water park at 1pm the day of check-in. I packed a little back pack with our water gear so we could just change when we got there and left our bags in our car until the room was ready. Thankfully, they had our room ready to go when we checked in at 2! Either way, I would have swimsuits under the kids clothes or in a separate bag just in case yours isn’t ready so you can start swimming right away!
The indoor water park was AWESOME! They have a little for everyone and my kids had a blast! We talked Cody into riding one of their big rides there which was a family slide. You all get into a circular tube together and even the little ones can ride… Grayson’s eyes were as big as saucers!! They provide towels and life jackets, but you can bring your own as well. One thing I was really impressed by was that they allow you to bring your own food and drinks into the park. We brought our snacks and drinks in and the pizza for lunch so they make it very feasible for you to say there!
The basic family suite room was perfect for us. It has 2 queen beds and a little wall separating the sitting area with a pull out couch, which is where we put Grayson’s pack-n-play so he could have his own space. There is a microwave and fridge in the room so you can bring your own food and drinks with you which will save you money! I had the kids pack their favorite snacks and I brought the kids cups and some bottled water so we could just refill while we were there.
Great Wolf Lodge Mason has some great restaurants and I was very pleased with the prices! Kids meals were $5-6 with a side and drink and you could get a large pizza for $10! They had some great specials going on, one of them was buy one pizza get one for $5! Some friends of ours stayed that night as well and got that great deal! We had pizza left over the next day and the pizza place heated up our leftovers for us so we had it for lunch!
We also visited their newest restaurant, Lodge Wood Fired Grill. Their prices were reasonable as well and we tried a little bit of everything… from an appetizer, main dishes, and desserts. Everything we delicious!!!
We used our $30 credit voucher at their buffet breakfast. They had SO much food there and kids 3 and under are FREE! You can also stop in at another restaurant they have there for bagels, fruit and danishes if you aren’t ready for such a full breakfast in the morning.
There are some great games for the kids to occupy themselves with in between swimming. There is a huge arcade with games and bowling, glow golf, Magi Quest and their newest game Shadowquest. We tried out the Shadowquest and let me tell you how cool that game is!!! The game sends you on a wild goose chase around the lodge, looking for clues and items to collect to win the game. It was a little over my kids heads because of how in-depth it is, but they LOVED running through the lodge, waving their wands at all of these cool screens, pictures and animals that talked and moved!
Lastly, don’t forget to check out the FREE clock tower show throughout the day! The 8:00 show has a bedtime story to follow with a special guest appearance from one of Great Wolf’s animal friends! Also, if you go in the winter, when it is all decorated for Christmas, it SNOWS in the lobby at each show!! They also have special Christmas themed crafts and appearances from Santa :)
Overall, it was a FABULOUS experience. I love that it is close enough we can visit for the day, but I have to say this will be an annual overnight visit for us because it was just SO much fun!! This place was just MADE for kids, it is like their little paradise!! Oh and for us adults… YES, they have alcohol to your heart’s content so pull up a chair, have a drink and watch your kids have a BLAST!!!!
