I have blogged in the past about my troubles conceiving and one of the major contributors is my PCOS which causes irregular periods. Well, my unpredictable cycles has reared its ugly head again and with almost 50 day cycles, my PMS symptoms were getting out of control. I can feel so much anxiety welling up around day 40, feelings of uneasiness, a shorter fuse and just plain irritable! This lasts until my period starts so as you can see it is no fun for anyone!!
I have been delving more and more into using essential oils for our everyday needs and I knew I had to put the oils to work on mamas PMS!! The main oil recommended is Clary Calm.
Clary Calm (previously called Solace)
This blend has been traditionally used to balance hormones and manage symptoms of PMS and the transitional phases of menopause. A topical blend of clary sage, lavender, bergamot, Roman chamomile, cedarwood, ylang ylang, geranium, fennel, carrot seed, palmarosa and vitex, Clary Calm provides temporary relief from cramps, nausea, hot flashes, and the emotional swings sometimes associated with regular hormone cycles in women. It is also recommended to help aid in infertility which is awesome!! I roll it on my wrists and feet twice a day. You can also roll it on your abdomen where your ovaries are located, but I have been using Clary Sage there which helps irregular menstrual cycles.
Another blend I would highly recommend for balancing your hormones and your body in general is Balance.
The blend creates a sense of calm and well-being and helps reduce feelings of disconnectedness and anxiety. It contains a blend of spruce, rosewood, frankincense, and blue tansy with fractionated coconut oil which together promotes tranquility and a sense of balance! I put a drop on my feet twice a day, morning and night. I also put this on the kids. Many people have given testimony to Balance, saying it has helped with their children having tantrums! I haven’t tried this myself, but I do put it on the kids feet once a day. Putting oils on your kids feet can be a great time of bonding. Use a carrier oil and give them a little massage and talk about their day. They LOVE it!! Some other uses for Balance include: Back Pain, Depression, Energy, Hot Flashes, Metabolism and Mood Swings.
I have noticed a HUGE change since using these two oils. I had absolutely NO PMS symptoms this last month (o.k. maybe my hubby would disagree LOL)! No, in all seriousness, I could not believe the difference it makes. There have been times in the middle of the day when I am stressed with the kids and the amount of “stuff” on my to do list and I take out my balance, rub some on my feet and just inhale the oil from the bottle to calm me down and it WORKS! I have loved being able to take control of mine and my family’s health with my Essential Oils. It is really empowering to have something that is SAFE, EFFECTIVE, and completely natural to use on my family as our first line of defense, before having to call the doc!
I would love to hear about ways you use your Essential Oils! I have been amazed at how they are changing my life and would love for you to share how they have changed yours! I have to add this disclaimer that I am not a doctor and these opinions are my own. Not ALL ESSENTIAL OILS are created equal. Oils can say 100% pure therapeutic grade and not be completely pure. I highly recommend to do your own research! DoTerra Oils are Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade and is tested on 6 different levels for their purity. If you have any questions or need help locating the right oil for your own particular health issues please send me an email and be sure to check out my website for all things DoTerra!

I have a question :) Would you need to use these all month long for it to be effective?
Yes! I do. Just like you would a medication if that makes sense!Sent from my iPhone
