Cancer is a huge buzz word at the moment. There are so many people I have know personally who have suffered from Cancer. Melanoma, breast cancer, prostate cancer, skin cancer, and ovarian cancer are the names of just some of the cancers that have attacked my loved ones. It is so scary when something is wrong with our bodies, especially when it really affects our daily lives. We start to question where this may take us and what will happen to our families in the process. It can wreak havoc on not only the people who are battling the cancer, but also the friends and family in connection with that person.
You can google cancer and find numerous bloggers who have gone through it or are living with it now. Reading and following their journey is painful, heartbreaking, but also hopeful because it means that no one is alone int this fight. Regardless what type of cancer you have, there is support out there for you. Bloggers who are walking or who have walked the walk, forums, local wellness communities, documentaries and research on non-traditional treatment methods such as the Gerson Therapy (which I have written about before); the amount of information out there is endless. It really is up to YOU to take your health into your own hands.
For 100 years now, there has been a huge cancer supporter and cancer fighter who has not given up on finding a cure; The American Cancer Society. They have led the fight against cancer finding cures, giving support, and saving lives! One fact given by the American Cancer Society is that 60 years ago, 1 out of 3 people diagnosed with cancer survived at least 5 years. Today, thanks in part to the work of the American Cancer Society, 2 out of 3 will survive! WOW! That is amazing and hopeful news! I will be so grateful for the day that we can see 3 out of 3 survival rate!!
I believe in being your own advocate when it comes to your health. I think you can find healing within the foods you eat, how much you move your body, using essential oils and herbs, coupled with the research being done by our scientists and medical professionals. Do your own research and give to those foundations who can make a difference well beyond what we as individuals can do alone.
