So NO! I am not going to break out the full song from Sound of Music (although it was one of my FAVORITE movies growing up)! What I am going to do is share some of my FAVORITE things! Being a mom is hard work and any goodies we can find along the way that make us feel somewhat sane, less exhausted, help us handle our daily tasks or just make us feel pretty is soooo worth sharing! We gotta help each other out right?!
“Mini Vacs”
Kim reviewed the Bissel Perfect Sweep Turbo a few months ago. I also have the same one and have been wanting to add my review as well. I do like it. It is quiet (so I can vacuum while on the phone and still hear what the person I am talking to is saying!), compactly stores because you can hang it on the wall, lightweight so Cody has no problem using it (sweeping up the floors is one of his chores) and it doesn’t strain your back taking it up the stairs like your big vacuum cleaner and it has a long battery life! What I don’t like is that it doesn’t seem to pick up things in corners or along the edges of the floors where it meets cabinets etc. I also feel like you have to empty it a lot or it doesn’t pick up very well. Also, my hands always seem to get dusty when I empty it. I will say, prior to having this one, I went on a hunt for the perfect “mini vac” because I need to vacuum daily from kids food spills and cat hair. I am certainly not going to lug my big one out every day so this was a great alternative. I searched forever and after taking many back to Bed Bath and Beyond (which is the greatest store ever because they take anything back, even after being used) I found the perfect one….. SHARK! Although I like the bissel, I LOVE my Shark. It is loud (my only negative), but it picks up everything, it is heavy-duty, but lightweight enough that Cody uses it. It does cost a little more, but sometimes you get what you pay for. I can say that if I didn’t have the Shark first, I would say that I love the Bissel, but being able to compare them, I would recommend the Shark over the Bissel. If you have kids or pets, YOU NEED A MINI VAC!
Shoes
I have talked in the past how much I LOVE Eversave, Groupon etc. I think you get the BEST deals on items that you would otherwise not spend your money on. Several months ago Eversave had a deal on Boots from Shoe Scandal. For $20 you got up to $100 to spend there on boots. I ended up getting the Shearling 3 buttoned boots and LOVE them!! They are SO adorable and are some of the MOST comfortable shoes I have ever worn! Who says you can’t be cute/ stylish and a mom at the same time?!!!
Wristlet Wallet
Kim got me one of these for Christmas and it is a wallet that has a little detachable wristlet which you can see in this pic (not the one I got but I googled a pic so you could see it). I LOVE this! I will NEVER have a regular wallet again. This comes in handy SO much having kids, because if I am just running in somewhere and don’t want to take the entire diaper bag in, I just throw the strap around my wrist, attach my keys to wristlet (I use a mini carabiner I got from Krogers so I can attach my keys to anything which makes them easily accessible) and off I go… HANDS FREE! Best. Invention. Ever!
HAAN floor sanitizer
My mother-in-law got this for me for Christmas two years ago and this thing is AMAZING! There are NO chemicals used and it disinfects 99.9% of germs in your house with just WATER! It heats up in just a few minutes, it is light weight and I can disinfect my floors in minutes!! SERIOUSLY! You can do hardwood, carpet, upholstery and just about everything else!
Ava Anderson
I wrote a review about this company a while ago. I didn’t really care for the shampoo and conditioner, but I have recently tried the baby line and it is AMAZING! We are trying to phase out all things that contain fragrance and so a lot of the things we buy don’t have any smell to them. Ava Anderson products almost all rank zero for no nasties and has no artificial fragrance, but it smells DIVINE! Seriously, the best smell ever. I have been REALLY pleased with the products I have tried which is: 3 in 1 wash/shampoo/ bubble bath, diaper cream, and body lotion. I love the 3 in 1 because more bang for your buck and the diaper cream you can use anywhere. Grayson has some eczema on his elbows and it has almost completely disappeared!! Again, for the scent alone it is amazing!
Growing Sound C.D.
These are WONDERFUL! We are always looking for good kids c.d.’s and these are the BEST! I could go into detail on these, but it would be better to just read the website. HIGHLY recommend!!
