With Christmas right around the corner, most businesses are giving great deals on all those must need items, including CARS! Before kids, we really didn’t think about what type of car we should get based on how it would be with kids. Luckily, our Ford Expedition has been GREAT for lugging just about anything, along with my two kiddos. I love that it has two rows in the back for extra passengers and when not in use, I fold the back row down and use it to cart strollers, groceries and everything in between. It has been a great car for us and although I am hoping we don’t have to get a car any time soon (fingers crossed), this guest post has helped me to take other cars into consideration…. however, I don’t see a minivan on the list!!! I swore I would never get one, but nowadays some of those minivans are super stylish!! We shall see :)
We all owe our mom a debt of gratitude for taking us to our friend’s house for a sleepover, or to soccer and baseball practice each week. While mom would never complain to you about what car she was driving, here are some cars that she would be sure to approve of if given the chance to get behind the wheel.
Honda Civic
The Civic is a great car because it provides a ton of value and is a practical, yet fun car. If treated well, it can last at least until the little one is ready to drive. This car is great on gas and can get the kids to soccer practice without having to stop at the gas pump with a 44mpg rating on the highway. It’s somewhat futuristic design also will appeal to a mom who wants to look cool in her car.
Lexus IS 250C
This anti-civic is certainly not your typical mother type car. However, if mom wants to let loose, this is the perfect car to do so in. It has a retractable-hardtop roof, so it won’t get wet when the top is up. The ample leg room and decent storage space make it a good way to drive the kids around in style. The other plus is that it is also a durable car that can last for years if treated right. That is certainly a win-win for the mom with style.
Subaru Impreza
Subaru is known for making cars that are quite safe and reliable. The Impreza comes with electronic steering control and all wheel drive making it one of the safest cars out there. The 2.5i model is a hatchback which can come in handy when loading and unloading the soccer bags at night. The price tag is a little higher than the other cars on the list, but safety is important, especially if you have younger children.
Honda Fit
It sort of looks like a golf cart when you first see it, but it actually is larger than the Impreza on the inside. Combine that with the 35 mpg that you can get with the Honda Fit, and you have a roomy family car that is good with gas. That certainly will make mom feel good about driving it. The Fit also comes with seats that can flip upward in case there are bulky science projects in need of transporting.
