5 Weeks To Go!!!

I can’t believe that I am only 5 weeks away from my “guess date”! Time has been flying by, although my body feels like I have been preggers forever! I really took an easy when I was pregnant with Cody, but life is a lot different when you are prego and running after a toddler all day! Not only that, but I do keep myself pretty busy- when I should be resting! I have been getting braxton hicks with this pregnancy A LOT! Pretty much all day off and on. It doesn’t really hurt, but it is super uncomfortable. It makes my belly feel like it is two times as big as it actually is! Cody can hardly sit on my lap at this point which makes story time tricky!

You would think with this being the second time around I am feeling much more relaxed, but the opposite is true! With Cody, I was taking pregnancy classes and reading all the books and was in new parent bliss (not knowing what was to come!)- I felt so much more prepared last time. This time, I feel unorganized, nervous about how Cody is going to react, how he will be while we are in the hospital, how I am going to spend equal time with them both…. the list goes on. AND I know this time around how much you don’t sleep in the beginning, how challenging breastfeeding can be etc.!!!

I am hoping that when the baby comes, all my anxiety goes away, Cody has no transitioning problems (ha!), the baby sleeps through the night from day one and breastfeeding is a breeze.. o.k. well a girl can dream right?!

All in all, I am really excited to have a newborn in the house again and I know that over time we will get into a new routine and life as a family of 4 will be all good! Just pray for me in the beginning because I know I am going to need it :)
