Kim and I both have been making the boys food since they were ready for purees. We have loved it so much that we now host rotating baby and toddler food workshops around Cincinnati. Our home base, and where you can find us once a month, is Whole Foods Mason. We have also hosted classes at the Cincinnati Family Enrichment Center and The Holistic Moms Chapter. We are by no means chefs ( if you know me, you know that I could hardly cook prior to having Cody!), but once we got started making the boys purees we realized it was much easier than we thought it would be. We wanted to share our experience with other moms and let them know that if we could do it so could they!!
On my journey of cooking purees for Cody I have used many gizmos and gadgets from my blender, steamer, magic bullet.. the list goes on. I recently received the Beaba Babycook to review. All I can say is WOW!! I have been told by many people how amazing it is, but you really have to try it for yourself. It functions as a steamer, blender, warmer and defroster (all in one)! It starts by steam cooking vegetables, fruits, and meats in less than 15 minutes and then purees or blends the food to the desired consistency. It is super easy to use and clean up is a breeze because it is all in one! The appliance itself is small so it doesn’t take up a lot of space on your counter. Best of all, the Babycook is BPA FREE!!!
What I love about this (other than it cuts my prep & clean up time in HALF!) is that I can use the water that my produce has been steamed in (which has all the nutrients and vitamins) and thin my fruit or vegetable to my desired consistency. If I use my traditional steamer I have to try and get the SUPER HOT water out of the base of the steamer and practically burn myself. This saves my hands which is always good :) This can be so convenient and helpful for dinner time. Let’s say you are making chicken and broccoli for the fam…. while cooking the main meal, you could take a few pieces of the broccoli, steam it and puree it for your baby. Then all of dinner could be done at the same time. Whatever leftover puree you have you can store in Beaba’s specialty made storage containers or ice cube trays and stick in the freezer or fridge for later (then use your babycook to defrost your puree directly from the freezer or warm it from the fridge). I have been using it with Cody for lunches to steam some veggies for him which has been great because then I don’t have to get my big steamer out!
All in all, the Babycook is amazing and I am SO excited to use this more when I start feeding baby boy #2. I know it is going to make life so much easier with two (every little bit helps right?)! I also love that you can warm and defrost in the Babycook vs. having to use the microwave! Thanks Beaba for making such a wonderful product!

I LOVE my Beaba! When you busy with 2, as my life now is, it makes it soooo easy to still make your own food!
