It’s A BOY!!!!

WOW! I can’t believe it has already been a month since I last posted about being preggers!! This last month has FLOWN by! I can’t believe I am already 21 weeks!! My belly is growing like crazy and this little one has been kicking me since about 17 weeks. With all the issues we had conceiving Cody I was really in shock this time until I started feeling the baby kick and then when we had the 20 week ultrasound!! It was just as special as the first one I had with Cody. Seeing the baby on the screen, moving and kicking. The little hands and feet, the heart beating…. AMAZING! I had been talking to Cody about the ultrasound for several days before and when the baby appeared on the screen he just stared in awe. Then he looked at me and said, “mommy, baby moving!!” with such an amazing look in his eyes. Can I just say my heart melted right then and there!!

Oh did I mention… it’s a BOY! Cody is going to have a lil bro! Cody and I have been talking a lot about the baby and how he is going to help mommy. He says he is going to help feed the baby, change the baby’s diaper, rock the baby and sing to the baby. SO CUTE! He kisses my tummy and sings “rock-a-bye baby” to the baby. I know, adorable!! I must say, growing up I would imagine myself with little girls running around, but once we started trying I was really wanting a boy. Of course, I would have been happy either way :) But the thought of my first one being a boy and being the big brother/ protector really stuck with me. This time, I thought it would be great to have another boy just so Cody could have a brother to share the world with (and I have all the boy stuff I need already!!)… some of my friends say I wanted boys so I could stay the queen of the castle– what’s wrong with that?! lol!! Either way I will have my two boys and MAYBE we will try for a girl baby #3! Yeah, I know, we will talk about that after I have been running after two kids!!

I have been feeling MUCH better lately, just short of breath a lot. Other than that, feeling pretty good! I keep a journal that I bought when I was pregnant with Cody and I would write to him and now I write about new things he is doing. SO- I went out and bought another one for baby boy. I have been writing in it, but have already noticed not nearly as much as I use to write in Cody’s! I really want to try and do things the same as I did with Cody so neither feel “slighted” but I find less and less time now with Cody running around I can’t even imagine what it is going to be like when baby boy gets here too! My only hope is that I can continue with things I am most passionate about as a mom and let the other little things go (I just don’t want to drive myself crazy!!). Oh how life is going to change!

Overall, life is so crazy I half forget I am preggers. I will post more about this soon, but we have been trying to sell our house, doing construction, sold our house, looking for houses, found a house and will be moving soon!! It is also my big 3-0 bday next week so we are going away for a little mini vaca. In between things, when I have time to rest, I remind myself- H-E-L-L-O you are pregnant :) It really is crazy how fast time flies by!

I will keep you updated with things and once the baby is here you know this is going to be my place of solace! I will be pouring my crazy thoughts of motherhood out to all of you so you can help me keep my sanity :)

20 Weeks!

Some of the girls threw me a little party…. that is a non-alcoholic beverage btw. Come on, you didn’t really think I would be drinking a real margarita did you?! lol. It was wonderful to feel like I was having a big girl drink in a big girl cup :)
