More Christmas Crafts Ideas

by Jennie on December 16, 2010

Cody and I had SO much fun over our friends (mama Jenny & Connor) house the other day, playing, talking and crafting! Jenny has such an amazing gift with all the crafts that she does and she is passing that on to her kids which is awesome! I am the polar opposite… I want to be crafty, but it just doesn’t come naturally to me! So I told Jenny that I would just steal all her ideas and act like they are my own!! lol (luv ya Jenny!) So- here are some cute, inexpensive holiday crafts ideas that I stole just for YOU!!!

  • You can get several cute little crafts at Michaels or Hobby Lobby’s that come in their own little bags and (what I really loved)  a lot of the ones we did came in the bag sticky! This way you didn’t have to use glue, you just peeled off the back and let the kids stick the pieces where ever they choose! Here are some of the crafts we did: several wreaths which we are giving away to the fam (I kept one to hang on our tree and Cody has to show it to me every morning! he is so proud!), Santa, & a Reindeer door knob decorator!

  • Decorate your own glass ornaments: You buy a box of clear (see through) glass ornaments, take the tops off and let the kids pour their fav color paint inside. Then you put the top back on and shake, shake, shake! Each time you will make a unique, personalized ornament!

  • Make your own Christmas cards/ tags for your gifts: I LOVE this idea because you are recycling the old! Save those Christmas cards you get, cut out the side with the picture, punch a hole in it, tie some ribbon through it and attach it to your gift! You have recycled the old and made something unique and new and it costs you nothing!!!

  • Save those hand prints forever: This makes great Christmas gifts! You can add a little holiday flair to the average hand print/ foot print mold by buying the holiday embellishments and adding them to the mold!

  • Snowman: Take 3 different sized styrofoam balls (the biggest cut a small portion off bottom so it sits flat), roll/paint craft glue completely covering them. Take glitter and roll or sprinkle on each one.  When dry, take a toothpick and insert into bottom and middle ball, and then again with middle and top balls to keep them together.  Use glitter glue to make nose, eyes, mouth, buttons and just toothpicks for arms.

  • More Ornaments: Take different size styrofoam balls, insert a chenelle stem (she used glittery ones) completely cover in craft glue and roll or sprinkle in glitter. Let dry and twist chenelle stem where ever you want to hang them to look like ornaments hanging. She hung hers on her chandelier in the dining room!

  • The other fun thing I found was ways to get a personalized call from Santa!
  1. If you are a member of cincinnati bell wireless you can get a free call from Santa!
  2. You can also go to Send A Call from Santa for a free personalized phone call from him (this one has pretty fun words you can personalize so send them out to all your friends and fam!)
