When my friend Pam called giddy about seeing a local blow dry bar, my first question was what the heck is a blowout??!! So, of course, my first thought was I HAVE to try it… any excuse for a GNO right?! I decided to have her share her experience of the blow dry bar first since she has more of the dirt on how they became so popular :)
Back in the early 90’s the art of using a round brush to straighten hair made its way to my local salon outside of Cleveland. My naturally curly hair became an obsession for my hairdresser and the salon owner who enjoyed practicing their new technique on me. I never had enough patience or arm strength to master the technique so I enjoyed stopping in for my practice blow out. Once I graduated college, I heard professional business women in NYC would stop into blow-dry salons for the professional, polished, silky strands so many of us long for. “Why didn’t that exist here?” was a question that I often pondered as I stood with my wet head upside down in a hot diffuser to tame the frizz.Over the holidays a new sign on Cincinnati-Dayton Rd caught my eye, “The Blowdry Bar & Salon.” Thoughts of a new, glamorous Pam began racing through my head and I quickly googled the shop. My prayers had been answered…A blow-dry salon like the big cities…HERE in West Chester!
Fast Forward to my visit. I parked my car and peered inside through my windshield and immediately was smitten! The Blow Dry Salon was “ahh-maze-ing.” I first noticed the fancy chandeliers that illuminate the smooth white bar and sleek white leather chairs. I couldn’t wait to get inside! When I walked in, the built-in, flat screen TV caught my eye along with the fabulous mirrors along the side wall. I was ecstatic and could not wait to get my blow-out!
After a long scalp massage and extra “shot” of conditioning treatment I made my way up to the bar. All of the blow-out styles are named after cocktails, and blow-out-extraordinaire, Kelly, recommended a hybrid look, a cosmo-rita. I did my research before my blow out, but was still blown away by the champagne and chick flicks while my hair got fabulous! Time flew by and before I knew it I was admiring my new look! Soft, voluminous curls bounced around my back while whispy strands framed my face, giving me sweepy faux-bangs. I loved it! And based off all my facebook “likes” I think my friends did too!
The next morning I woke up and my hair still looked pretty good! I tousled my fingers through it before leaving the house with my two children. If only every morning could be that easy! Luckily I had a fun girl’s dinner that evening, so I took the curling iron to a few strands, but my evening fix-up took less than 3 minutes. My hair looked great the next day too and I’m certain I could have gone 4 days before washing it, except I forgot when I stepped into the shower. I am already planning my next girls’ night out with a trip to The Blowdry Bar & Salon! Other events worth getting my hair blown out for are the 3 weddings I have coming up, a semi-fancy charity function and my husband’s college reunion. This is a great place to go on a Thursday night so you have fabulous hair all weekend long! Or, if you sometimes back out of the driveway and realize you never actually looked in the mirror before you left to get the kids to school and activities, the Blowdry Bar would be a great fit for a Sunday night.
Around the back of the blowdry bar is a full service salon. Massages and additional spa treatments are available, including the most amazing eye-lash extensions I have ever seen! A few of the girls were wearing them and I was envious. No mascara needed and they last for weeks! They may need to be my hot, new, summer accessory!
I definitely recommend checking them out and booking an appointment! You can check out their website and facebook page for more details! Feel free to give them a call as well. All the girls who work there are so sweet and happy to answer any questions you may have! 513-777-3800

This is a neat idea! I have never heard of a blow dry bar (we probably don't have one in our area) but I will have to be on the look out for it. Thanks for Sharing!
SOOOO fun! You have to try it out if you have one local to you!
